Your first service: what to expect.
Electric bikes need less maintenance than petrol — but 'less' isn't 'none'. Here's what happens at your first check-up.

Your first LEKI service happens at 1,000 km or six months, whichever comes first. It's included in the purchase price and it takes about 90 minutes. Book it online or drop in — either works.
What we actually do
- Re-torque every structural fastener now that the bike has been ridden in.
- Check brake pad wear and bleed the lines if the lever feel has softened.
- Update the motor controller firmware to the latest release.
- Full battery health report — capacity, cycle count, cell balance.
- Chain tension, tyre pressure, and a general once-over.
What we don't do
No oil change. No spark plugs. No coolant. No fuel filter. No valve clearances. The list of things an electric drivetrain doesn't need is longer than the list of things it does.
After the first service, subsequent services are every 5,000 km or annually. Most owners see us once a year for about the price of a decent dinner.
